This is a blog post I’ve been thinking about for a while. Just to voice some thoughts about the kind of art I like to make and to answer questions I get about my lack of ‘passion’ to take it further. I’m sure other artsy-types have heard these kinds of things before:
My aim is usually to post an art dump once a month, but I’ve not really drawn much over the past month or so because I’ve been totes busy and having an awesome time. I have drawn some things though, however it’s all unfinished sketches. So I’m going to dump a bunch of sketches right here.
This last piece I am SUPER pleased with, because I made it for work. It’s a Sticker Sheet for WordCamp London 2016. We’re going to have a great time seeing people dress up Wapuu!
I’ve been mostly working on commissions lately, due to a poor January. So I’m finishing those up and then I’ve got some cool ideas for things to draw for myself.
So this week I learned something new relating to art. Nicole and I were chatting and I was finishing up my art trade with her, and she introduced me to the wonders of overlays in Photoshop.
I’ve used the overlay took before but never for anything special, so learning that it’s actually kickass to shade with is awesome. Feeling inspired, I returned to a subject I had been trying to grasp with my art in the past; colour theory.
Nicole drew me a kickass picture of my dragon character months ago. It was supposed to be a commission but we ended up doing a trade instead. So here’s my piece. Her character is based off of Chinese Fu Dogs, which I’m not sure is bovious from my interpretation of him but hey I tried!
I’ve not been up to anything really exciting recently. But I’ve drawn! I’ve drawn a whole bunch. So I’m going to dump a load of my art here in a second. There’s been some changes to the site. Mostly, I have removed all the tech and coding articles. This is because I am making a
I like drawing little spazzy rabbits. Here are a few. I’ve particularly become a fan of adding paper textures to my drawings, since I saw it done by another artist and it looked great. I’ve actually got a bunch of art to dump recently, since I’ve learned a way to make really large, high quality
For NanoWriMo I wrote about my characters, mostly the dragon ones. I plan on putting everything I’ve written together in some sort of eBook format; more-so for myself than anyone else. I’m not ready to show off any writing yet, but I’m also trying to draw an image per chapter. I finished this one today
